A term in the Chinook Jargon or Chinuk Wawa language, a hybrid language used among various First Nations tribes and later as a trading language among Coureurs de Bois, trappers, traders, and prospectors. It translates roughly to worthless stuff and is often used in reference to Mundane technology.
It also refers to a counterculture group of young mages who have taken up the Chinook Jargon phrase as a term of power. Refusing to be derided for their proclivities, the Cultus Iktus counterculture openly flaunts mundane tech such as smartphones and proclaims algorithmic programming languages to be a new form of arithmancy. There are many Cultus Iktus clubs at Primascholae and Magischolae across the Magimundi.
